The aim of this project was to give give a new life to flowers which would otherwise wilt away. I did this by documenting the beauty of flowers when they are in their prime using watercolour paintings. I then developed this into using the flowers to dye fabric. The effect of the flowers on the fabric was beautiful and delicate which I found embodied the flowers very well.

 

I used the fabric that I dyed to embellish a blanket I knitted. I felt that a decorative blanket was a good object to display this dyed fabric as it is something which is on show in the home and the life of the original flower can be appreciated for much longer.
